Professor Graham Wright
Professor Wright has been involved in health informatics since 1980, when he co-founded the Open Software Library with David McKendrick. Enjoying a dual career in consultancy and academia over the last two decades, he is known for his work on the Rainbow series, Health Information education and evaluation studies. He is the programme director for the MSc. Health Informatics (Organisational Development) at University of Winchester which is also being delivered in Mthatha. Graham is the founder and Director of CHIRAD and a GP Tutor for Swindon and Kennet. He was the General Manager of the Hawthorn Medical Centre (Swindon) and prior to that employed as a professor at the EIHMS, University of Surrey with the roles of Director of Education and Director of Health Informatics. He is a Visiting Fellow and a member of the Court of the University of Surrey. His research includes a review of the NHS IM&T Strategy, evaluation of clinical systems, development of criteria for risk assessment of systems implementation. He current research is defining the Knowledge Base of Health Informatics for IMIA and BCS. Graham's external activities include:
